Blepharoplasty (Eyelid surgery)

Eyelid surgery, including upper and lower lid blepharoplasty, is performed to remove excess upper eyelid skin and bulging lower eyelid fat pads. This minor surgical procedure is often done in an office-based operating room with local anesthesia and light sedation. Recovery is usually complete within 3 to 4 days, though mild swelling and bruising may last 7-10 days. Most patients say there is little to no pain with blepharoplasty and the aesthetic benefits are realized quickly.
