Dr. Carey Nease is one of the most thoroughly trained and experienced cosmetic surgeons in the South. He is a fellowship-trained and triple-board certified cosmetic and facial plastic surgeon. Dr. Nease graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1998; he spent the next 5 years training at the University of Oklahoma, first in general surgery and then in head, neck and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. In 2007, he completed an advanced, one-year cosmetic surgery fellowship program through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and has been in practice at Southern Surgical Arts for five years.

Having originally trained in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, Dr. Nease made the choice to specialize in cosmetic surgery. Having spent years refining his artistic skills, Dr. Nease has performed more than 5,500 cosmetic surgery procedures. He is among the leading practioners of facial rejuvenation, breast augmentation, fat transfer and the laser-assisted body sculpting technique known as SmartLipo.
In July 2007, Dr. Nease opened Magnolia Cosmetic Surgery Center in Northwest Georgia. Within two years, Dr. Nease renamed his practice to Southern Surgical Arts and expanded to locations in Dalton, GA and now also in Chattanooga, TN. Dr. Nease offers the latest cosmetic surgery techniques with a focus on revealing beauty using an artistic touch and advanced skills in a relaxed, pampering and personal environment.

Dr. Nease is a Fellowship Director of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and trains surgeons from around the country the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery. The fellowship is a one-year training program open to current ABMS-certified general surgeons, plastic surgeons and head and neck surgeons. He is also a board-examiner and trustee of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.
Dr. Nease trains other surgeons around the United States how to use SmartLipo and the Affirm fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing procedures. In March 2011, Dr. Nease hosted and lectured during an American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) sponsored Live Surgery Workshop. This two-day teaching course covered the latest techniques in facial rejuvenation, facelifts, non-invasive rejuvenation procedures, lip augmentation and laser technology.

Dr. Nease is highly respected in both communities and considered the leading expert in cosmetic surgical procedures of the face and body. Dr. Nease was also selected as a finalist in the Best of the Best awards in 2009 in Chattanooga. He was also selected as Readers' Choice for Best Cosmetic Surgeon 2010 and Best Cosmetic Surgery Center 2009 in Dalton. At Southern Surgical Arts, we perform all of our procedures in one of three accredited, state-of-the-art facilities. Our Calhoun, GA location is accredited by AAAHC. We also perform surgeries in the Grandview Medical Center, in Jasper, TN, and the Physician’s Surgery Center at Parkridge East Hospital in Chattanooga, both of which are accredited by The Joint Commission.
