Carey Nease, MD at Southern Surgical Arts

Dr. Nease at Southern Surgical Arts is a fellowship-trained, Triple-Board Certified Cosmetic and Facial Plastic Surgeon. Carey Nease, MD graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 1998 and then spent 5 years training at the University of Oklahoma in the general surgery and then head, neck and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery training program.

In 2007, he completed an advanced, one year Cosmetic Surgery fellowship program through the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Nease is currently a Board Certified Facial Plastic and General Cosmetic Surgeon with extensive expertise in facial rejuvenation, breast augmentation, fat transfer and laser-assisted body sculpting also known as Smart-Lipo. In recent years, Dr. Nease's research has been published in several aesthetic surgical journals, and he has given numerous lectures and presentations to his peers across the country. He also trains other surgeons from across the country in the latest cosmetic surgery techniques.

The American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery is a prestigious organization that fosters, promotes, supports, augments, develops and encourages the science, art and practice of cosmetic surgery. Formed in 1985, it strives to train qualified surgeons to deliver excellent cosmetic surgical care and to educated patients on the benefits of cosmetic surgery.

Dr. Nease is a fellowship-trained and Board-Certified Cosmetic Surgeon. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and a fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Nease is considered an expert in the field of facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and also general cosmetic surgery and specializes in laser-assisted surgery including the laser assisted facelift and laser body sculpting.

In July 2007, Dr. Nease opened Magnolia Cosmetic Surgery Center in a new, state of the art location in Northwest Georgia. Within two years, Dr. Nease renamed his practice to Southern Surgical Arts and expanded to locations in Dalton, GA and now also in Chattanooga, TN. Dr. Nease offers the latest cosmetic surgery techniques with a focus on revealing beauty using an artist touch and advanced skills in a relaxed, pampering and personal environment.

Dr. Nease is a Fellowship Director of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery and trains surgeons from around the country the latest techniques in cosmetic surgery. It is a one-year training program open to current ABMS certified general surgeons, plastic surgeons and head and neck surgeons. He is also a Board-Examiner of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery.

Dr. Nease trains other surgeons around the United States how to use SmartLipo and the Affirm fractionated CO2 laser resurfacing procedures. In March 2011, Dr. Nease hosted and lectured during an American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) sponsored Live Surgery Workshop. This two-day teaching course covered the latest techniques in facial rejuvenation, facelifts, non-invasive rejuvenation procedures, lip augmentation and laser technology.

Dr. Nease lives in Chattanooga with his wife, Pam and their four children.
