What is Cosmetic Breast Surgery?
Cosmetic Breast Surgery at Southern Surgical Arts includes Breast Augmentation, Breast Lift (mastopexy) and Breast Reduction with lift. These procedures are typically performed in an outpatient setting with IV sedation or general anesthesia. Recovery is usually no more than a few days, with a return to normal activity in a week. Our surgeons offer an artistic approach to cosmetic breast procedures and are skilled in creating a more full, natural, youthful appearing breasts.
Breast Augmentation is a cosmetic surgical procedure to add volume to the breast for a more youthful, full appearance. We create volume in your breasts by placing implants behind your natural breast tissue or chest muscle. While breast augmentation is a surgical procedure, there is an art to it. We use a variety of techniques to minimize scarring, to hide the scars and to create a more natural appearance.
We use both saline (salt water) or silicone gel. Both are FDA-approved devices. We offer saline and silicone implants in partnership with Mentor Corporation; our silicone gel implants are FDA approved for cosmetic use in women over the age of 22.
Breast Lift Surgery: Our technique for lifting the breast typically results in a youthful, perky breasts and adds fullness to the upper area of the breast while minimizing scarring. A mini-lift is also possible with only a small scar around the areola (nipple) and may be combined with a new technique in which Smartlipo laser technology is added to the procedure. This creates more lift, firms the skin and allows for even smaller scars.
Breast Reduction with Lift: We use an advanced technique for lifting and reducing the breasts typically resulting in youthful, perky breasts, with greater fullness in the upper area.
Scarring, of course, is one of our patient’s biggest concerns. Our techniques often allow us to avoid the large scar along the lower crease. A lollipop-style scar is adequate to achieve lifted, smaller and more youthful breasts. We also employ a new technique in which Smartlipo laser technology is added to the procedure, along with liposuction to reduce the overall size of the breasts. This creates more lift, firms the skin and allows for even smaller scars. This new technique is offered by only a handful of surgeons in the United States; Dr. Nease not only offers this procedure, he trains other surgeons from around the country in the use of the Smartlipo laser.

What Does Cosmetic Breast Surgery Cost in Chattanooga, North Georgia and North Alabama?
The cost of each procedure varies, of course, depending on your unique needs. Cosmetic breast surgery at Southern Surgical Arts begins at about $4,000. Your specific quote will include the surgeon's fee, anesthesia costs, facility fees for the operating room and all other supplies and implants when indicated. The total price quote at Southern Surgical Arts also includes all routine follow-up visits.
Some surgery centers bundle the price of the procedure into one total fee like we do at Southern Surgical Arts. Others may only quote you their surgeon's fee so that their prices seem less. Ask questions to be sure that your different prices are indeed comparable.
