What is an Eye Lift / Brow Lift?

Eye Lift / Brow Lift, or Eyelid surgery, including upper and lower lid blepharoplasty, is performed to remove excess upper eyelid skin and bulging lower eyelid fat pads. This minor surgical procedure is often done in an office-based operating room with local anesthesia and light sedation. Recovery is usually complete within 3 to 4 days, though mild swelling and bruising may last 7-10 days. Most patients say there is little to no pain with blepharoplasty and the aesthetic benefits are realized quickly.

The price of Eye Lift surgery at Southern Surgical Arts begins at $2,250 depending on which procedure or combination of procedures Dr. Nease or Dr. Deal recommends for you. Your quote will include the surgeon's fee, anesthesia costs and the facility fee for the operating room and all other suppies and implants when indicated. The total price at Southern Surgical Arts also includes all routine follow visits and pre-op lab work.

Some surgery centers bundle the price of the procedure into one total fee like we do at Southern Surgical Arts and others may only quote you their surgeon's fee so that their prices seem less. We will give you the total surgery price.

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, is an operation that corrects sagging, or drooping eyelids as well as bags and bulges around the eyes. These conditions develop as a result of laxity of the eyelid skin and protrusion of fat around the eyes. It is not limited to older patients, as many individuals inherit a predisposition toward development of fat pouches at an early age. Excess skin is treated by excision or occasionally by laser resurfacing. If excess fat is present, it can be removed simultaneously. Care must be taken to not remove excessive amounts of fat to avoid a hollowing appearance with increasing age of the patient.

Surgical correction is appropriate for all age groups. In some cases, the condition will be caused by other medical problems such as allergy or thyroid disorders. In these patients, the proper treatment may be medical rather than surgical.
