Dr. Deal is a fellowship-trained, double-board-certified cosmetic surgeon.
He graduated from the University of Alabama School of Medicine in 2004. After graduating, Dr. Deal spent 5 years training as a general surgeon with Baptist Health Systems in Birmingham where he served as a Chief Resident. In 2010, Dr. Deal completed a cosmetic surgery fellowship program in Las Vegas under the guidance of Dr. Lane Smith, a world-renowned and quadruple board-certified Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon. During his fellowship year alone, Dr. Deal performed more than 850 cosmetic surgery procedures.

Dr. Deal has trained surgeons from around the world in a facial rejuvenation course sponsored by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery in March of 2011. He presented his techniques for Brazilian Butt Lifts at the 2011 American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery's Fall Symposium and was chosen to teach two more AACS-sponsored workshops in 2012. He also taught at the New and Established Techniques in Breast and Body Contouring: A Hands-On Cadaver Workshop in St. Louis, MO on Brazilian Butt Lifts.

Dr. Deal is on faculty with Southern Surgical Arts' American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery's fellowship program where he trains talented surgeons from around the country each year. The surgeons who finish the fellowship program are eligible to become boarded by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. In addition, he serves on the AACS' fellowship committee, which focuses on establishing the educational criteria for the AACS fellowship programs.
Choosing to specialize in cosmetic surgery
Dr. Deal trained in general surgery and made the choice to specialize in cosmetic surgery. Having spent years refining his artistic skills, Dr. Deal has performed thousands of procedures and is among the leading practitioners of large-volume fat transfer (Brazilian Butt Lift), breast augmentation, labiaplasty and the laser-assisted body sculpting technique known as SmartLipo.
Dr. Deal and his wife, Jennifer, currently reside on Lookout Mountain with their two sons.
Recognition in the Community
After being in the Chattanooga market for less than 6 months, Dr. Deal was selected as a finalist in Best of the Best awards for Best Cosmetic Surgeon in 2011 and in les than two years, he was selected as a 2012 finalist again. Most recently, Southern Surgical Arts won the 2011 Readers’ Choice award for Best Place for Cosmetic Surgery in Northwest Georgia. He was also selected for the Patient’s Choice Award and The Most Compassionate Doctor Award on Vitals.com.
State-of-the-Art Surgery Facilities
At Southern Surgical Arts, we perform all of our procedures in one of three accredited, state-of-the-art facilities. Our Calhoun, GA location is accredited by AAAHC. We also perform surgeries in the Grandview Medical Center, in Jasper, TN, and the Physician’s Surgery Center at Parkridge East Hospital in Chattanooga, both of which are accredited by the Joint Commission.
We consult with patients at both our Calhoun and Chattanooga offices.
