I have recently incorporated SmartLipo into my surgical practice at Magnolia Cosmetic Surgery Center, and it is fantastic! Smartlipo is a laser that makes liposculpture/body contouring procedures much better than what has been available in the past. I have done more than 20 cases in about 6 weeks and the results so far have been amazing.
The main benefits are that the recovery is just a few days compared to a week or more with traditional liposuction, and there is much less bruising and swelling. I use it for the removal of unwanted fat and also for skin tightening. There is also a new technique called the SmartLift, where I use the laser to help tighten the skin of the neck and jowls, and again the recovery compared to a traditional facelift is significantly shorter. I am one of a few cosmetic surgeons in the Southeastern United States doing this SmartLift procedure, and I am training several surgeons in the region to use this technology to help their patients.
