Meet the Business Staff

Gretchen Dunigan, Chief Patient Coordinator

Gretchen Dunigan, Chief Patient CoordinatorWith a passion for fashion, Gretchen is at her best while she is working with people. A Nashville native, she first came to Chattanooga while earning her BS in Psychology at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. Who would have thought that her minor in women’s studies would lead her to helping patients recapture their youth? In her spare time she likes to help others and has been a member of the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute and has participated in Big Brother, Big Sister of Chattanooga. 

Shelby Friddell, Patient Coordinator

Shelby Friddell, Patient CoordinatorBorn and raised in Ooltewah, Tennessee, Shelby graduated from Ooltewah High School and went on to study political science at Chattanooga State. She loves to meet new people and enjoys her role as patient coordinator at Southern Surgical Arts where she can help people reach their aesthetic goals and become more confident in their own skin! Her favorite hobbies are feeding the homeless in downtown Chattanooga, volunteering as team mom for her son's soccer team, crafting and traveling, particularly to Nashville and Destin, with her two boys. 

Connor Mull, Patient Coordinator

Connor Mull, Patient CoordinatorBorn and raised in Rome, Georgia, Connor graduated from Georgia Highlands College with a degree in Health Information Management. She also completed the Certified Nurse’s assistant course and has experience in several clinical environments. She enjoys working at Southern Surgical Arts as a patient coordinator because she loves the patient interactions and helping others become more confident. She says working as a makeup artist at Stella Blu Cosmetic Boutique gave her the passion for beauty and helping others reach their aesthetic goal. Connor enjoys doing others’ makeup, hiking with her fiancé, and volunteering at the animal shelter. 

Kate Parsons, Patient Coordinator

Kate Parsons, Patient CoordinatorRaised bi-coastal, this Decatur, AL native spent her childhood summers in San Francisco, CA. Later attending the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, she majored in marketing and pledged Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Experienced in both the medical and spa industry, her role as patient coordinator is a natural fit. An SSA client and surgical patient herself, it's easy to share her experience with patients and help navigate them through their own. Mother of three and married for 13 years, Kate still finds time for her other passion, creating one of a kind pieces for her jewelry line, named after daughter Caroline.

Angelica De Haro, Bilingual Patient Coordinator

Angelica De Haro, Bilingual Patient CoordinatorWith a passion for artistry, science, and making others smile, this Dalton State College biology major — and former Mac cosmetic artist — feels right at home on the SSA team offering her bilingual expertise in patient coordination. De Haro's dual fluency is helping SSA bring the highest level of service and patient care to the Hispanic community.

Tracie Lance, M.B.A., Chief Business Officer and Co-Administrator of Surgery Center

Tracie Lance, MBA, Chief Business OfficerNashville native, Tracie began working with Southern Surgical Arts in the Calhoun office. Her business sense has been an important part of Southern Surgical Arts’ phenomenal success. She thoroughly enjoys helping patients find a way to finance the procedures they desire. Tracie employs her business savvy while leading practice management sessions at AACS events. Tracie earned her BBA in Managerial Sciences with a minor in Hospitality Administration at Georgia State University before completing her MBA at Kennesaw State University. When she is not at work, Tracie enjoys spending time with her son, Jack.

Brittany Lovingood, Director of Business Development

Brittany Lovingood, ControllerBorn and raised in Georgia, Brittany is a dedicated University of Georgia Dawgs fan. While earning her Bachelor of Business Administration Marketing degree from Georgia Southern University, she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority and the Mu Kappa Tau National Marketing Honor Society. She loves to try new things, travel, and spend quality time with her family and friends.


Meet the Clinical Staff

Ali Albritton, RN BSN

Ali Albritton, RNAli graduated from Chattanooga State Community College with an RN and completed her Bachelor of Science Nursing degree from East Tennessee State University. She has been a nurse for 16 years, working in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care unit at Memorial Hospital for 13 of those years. Happily married to her husband Barret for 16 years, she loves Tennessee football and traveling. She is extremely passionate about skincare and committed to providing excellent care for patients at Southern Surgical Arts.


Traci Bryan, CRNA MSN

Traci Bryan, CRNAOriginally from Rome, Georgia, Traci has made nearby Cartersville her home. She spent many years in school pursuing her dream of becoming a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. When she is not caring for patients at Southern Surgical Arts, Traci enjoys traveling, music, dancing or just relaxing at home with her husband and dog.



Tammy Capel, Aesthetician

Tammy Capel, AethesticianTammy has been part of the Southern Surgical Arts staff since its inception. Over the years, she has completed a number of courses and earned numerous certifications including training certifications for most of Southern Surgical Arts’ noninvasive treatments. She has previously trained other practices on the laser treatments Southern Surgical Arts utilizes. When she is not at work, Tammy loves to enjoy fine wines, working out, and relaxing on the beach.


Hannah Carpenter, Surgical Assistant

Hannah Carpenter, Surgical AssistantA native of Rome, Georgia, Hannah was selected for the Southern Surgical Arts team because of her outstanding performance in the clinic after earning her degree in Surgical Technology from Georgia Northwestern Technical College. When she is not at work, Hannah enjoys many types of dance, which she has been practicing for almost 20 years.


Alicia Dieterich, RN, Clinical Director (RN, BSN) and Co-Administrator of Surgery Center

Alicia Dieterich, RNAfter encountering many parts of the country as a travel nurse, Alicia is happy to set some roots down in Chattanooga near her childhood Alabama home. Graduating from Alabama’s top-ranked private Samford University in Birmingham with a nursing degree, she has spent the last eight years in nursing, concentrating in surgical and trauma intensive care units. Using her nursing degree to help patients at Southern Surgical Arts reach their best possible self gives her a sense of satisfaction and she loves getting to know the patients. Her favorite free time activities are being crafty, listening to good music, and climbing mountains with her boyfriend and their two dogs.

Terri Dinges, RN

Terri Dinges, RNTerri was born in Miami, Florida but grew up in the Atlanta, Georgia area, She graduated from the Georgia Baptist Hospital School of Nursing, affiliated with Mercer University and has 15 years of experience as a registered nurse. At Southern Surgical Arts, she loves interacting with patients and helping them find anti-aging treatments to sustain their beauty. When Terri is not working, she loves exercising regularly, hiking, reading, going to church, rescuing animals, and encouraging her two wonderful children who are now attending college.

Elyse Farris, Surgical Assisstant

Elyse Farris, Surgical AssistantAlthough Elyse was born in Chickamauga, Georgia she was raised in Tennessee and graduated from Motlow State Community College with an Associates degree in Science. She continued her education at Chattanooga State and received her degree in Surgical Technoloy. She has worked in both photography and customer service areas but has spent the last three years as a surgical assistant for both Erlanger Health System and Southern Surgical Arts. Elyse loves crafting, home remodeling, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Marty.


Amber Honea, RN BSN

Amber Honea, RN BSNAmber was born and raised in a small town in Tennessee called Tullahoma. She always knew she wanted to be a nurse, sparked by the premature birth of her sister who had to be immediately taken by life flight to the hospital. From then on, she has been inspired to help those in need, however she could. She graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and gained nursing experience in the cardiac intensive care unit. Amber is very excited to join the team at Southern Surgical Arts. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her family, go on hiking adventures with her pups, listen to Shania Twain, and cheer on the Kentucky Wildcats!

Karla King, MSN, APRN

Karla King, Nurse PractitionerKarla is a board-certified nurse practitioner specializing in preventative medicine through hormonal balance and optimization, as well as aesthetic enhancement with nonsurgical cosmetic procedures. She earned her BSN from Georgia College and University, completed her MSN at Vanderbilt, and has 21 years of nursing experience with over 10 years in the field of aesthetics and wellness. After 5 years as a certified trainer for pharmaceutical companies Karla started her own company in 2010 to teach high definition injection techniques. Karla is pleased to be part of the Southern Surgical Arts team committed to the overall health of each patient.

Connie Majors, RN BSN

Connie Majors, RN BSNConnie grew up in a small town right outside of Knoxville and pursued her nursing degree at Carson-Newman University in Tennessee. She worked as a cardiac ICU nurse before joining the team at Southern Surgical Arts. She loves cheering on the University of Tennessee Volunteers during football season, hanging out with her great dane Zoe and her husband Darrin, playing golf, and traveling.


Albert Romero, CRNA MSN

Albert Romero, CRNA MSAlbert was born in San Jose, Costa Rica. He and his family moved to the United States when he was 3. From an early age he knew he wanted to be in the medical field. Albert graduated from Southern Adventist University with his nursing degree. In 2005 he obtained his CRNA degree from Barry University in Miami, Florida. He has been with Southern Surgical Arts since 2010. When he is not at work, Albert enjoys golfing, traveling with his wife Christina and spending time with his daughters, Gabrielle and Sofia.


Christina Romero, CRNA MSN

Christina Romero, CRNA  MSNChristina is a native Floridian but claims Chattanooga, TN as her home. She is a graduate from Southern Adventist University and completed her anesthesia training at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2004. She and her husband Albert have enjoyed providing anesthesia in the southeast for the last 9 years together and she joined the Southern Surgical Arts team in 2014. Christina and Albert have been married since 2008 and have two beautiful daughters. In her free time, Christina enjoys being involved in music ministry in her church, all things fitness, traveling, and loves spending time with friends and family.

Neko Shae, Aesthetician

Neko Shae, Aesthetician.jpgNeko has spent the past few years working in medical esthetics using a variety of modalities to provide the optimal results for healthy, beautiful skin. She has brought to Southern Surgical Arts her passion to provide the best treatments for each individual so they experience the confidence of healthy skin. Neko is a Tennessee native and enjoys the many outdoor activities available in Chattanooga, from camping to horseback riding to running trails with her dog. She also enjoys spending time with friends and her two wonderful girls.


Deanna Stephens, Medical Assistant

Deanne Stephens, Medical AssistantRaised atop Monteagle Mountain, Deanna attended Grundy County High School. After graduating, Deanna began working at a gym and enrolled in the Surgical Technology Program at Chattanooga State Community College. While studying to be a Surgical Tech, Deanna also earned her certification as a Medical Assistant. In her spare time, Deanna enjoys spending time with her husband and cats, exercising, traveling, and watching sports.


Alexis Taylor, Medical Assistant

Alexis Rae, Medical AssistantAt the age of 5, Alexis had open heart surgery and that experience sparked her love for patient care and surgery. Through high school she enjoyed track, gymnastics and cheerleading. She attended Cincinnati State College Academy of Allied Health to earn her medical assistant certificate. Continuing her education at Chattanooga State, she completed the esthetics and the surgical technologist programs. Her experience includes working for Dior cosmetics, a makeup artist for Sephora, and a scrub technician at Erlanger and Reid hospital. In her free time, Alexis loves to shop and spend time with friends.

Felicia Wright, Aesthetician

Felicia Wright, AestheticianFelicia loves to make Southern Surgical Arts patients smile and feel more confident and beautiful. Coming to us from Cedartown, Georgia, Felicia earned her professional credentials in Esthetics Technology at Miller-Motte Technical College. In her free time, Felicia likes to travel, spend time near the water, and enjoy the company of her husband and son.
