After completing his general surgery training in Birmingham, Alabama, Dr. Mason practiced for several years in Asheville, North Carolina. His desire to provide patients with transformative, confidence-building outcomes led him to pursue a cosmetic surgery fellowship at Southern Surgical Arts in Chattanooga, where he trained under nationally recognized leaders in the field.

Dr. Mason completed his cosmetic surgery fellowship in 2021 and is certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. I am writing a case report as wel as performing a literature review of gastrointestinal histoplasmosis in HIV positive patients, and particularly the incidence of intestinal perforation ni this population. Aposter of this case report was presented at the Southeastern Surgical Society Meeting in Atlanta, GA 2009.
