Preparation

To prepare for your VASER Hi-Def appointment, you will need to stop taking blood thinning medications (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen) for approximately 1 week before your appointment and smoking approximately 4 weeks beforehand. We usually recommend that patients plan their meals ahead of time and go grocery shopping to help them recover comfortably at home after the procedure.

Procedure

Before a VASER Hi-Def procedure, we will place you under anesthesia after your surgeon marks out the muscles they will accentuate. Your SSA surgeon will make a small incision near the treatment area and apply the VASER Hi-Def probe to liquefy the excess fat. Depending on your treatment plan, your surgeon can use VASER on the abdomen, arms, legs, or chest to break up subcutaneous fat with small bubbles of gas before quickly removing it with liposuction.

After the fat is liquified, we will use a long, thin instrument called a cannula to selectively remove it, revealing a smoother, chiseled abdomen with noticeable definition. Depending on the size of the treatment area, your procedure may take several hours. We will alternate the pulse mode of the VASER Hi-Def probe depending on the amount of excess fat we need to remove.

Recovery & Results

Your recovery from VASER Hi-Def will depend on your chosen treatment area(s), their size, and your body goals. The abdominal procedures can take around 10 days. If you received liposuction in several areas, you may have a more extensive recovery period. Patients usually return to work in a week or two, as long as they do not take part in any vigorous activities during this time.

You may need to wear a compression garment for several weeks to support your recovery and optimize it. Follow your post-procedure recovery instructions carefully to achieve the most effective results.
