Sylfirm X is an advanced radiofrequency microneedling device that improves skin laxity and pigmentation concerns. Other systems also combine the benefits of radiofrequency and microneedling. About SylfirmX
We all want smooth, firm skin with an even, healthy tone. One of the chief culprits for skin complaints besides the normal aging process is our daily exposure to the sun. Apart from its effects on our skin’s physical structure, it also causes unwanted discoloration by altering the amount of melanin produced in certain areas. Melanin is a molecule responsible for our skin pigmentation. It is produced by special cells called melanocytes at the deepest layer of the epidermis and darkens the skin when affected by certain factors.[1] When too much melanin is produced unevenly, the results include freckles, sun spots, or the skin condition melasma. For other patients, skin discoloration is caused by genetics, or the skin condition rosacea. However, in these cases, it’s not melanin to blame, its the tiny blood vessels that nourish the tissues of our face. However, when these become inflamed, the skin takes on a reddish appearance that can be difficult to conceal with makeup, and even more difficult to control with other treatments.

Preparation
Before you get to experience the benefits of SylfirmX, SSA wants to make sure that your are properly prepared so that you have the best experience and results possible. Before your appointment:
- Reduce time spent in the sun and protect your skin with sunscreen
- Abstain from blood-thinning medications one week before your scheduled treatment
- Stop using exfoliants, products with acids, Accutane, and retinoids
- Refrain from shaving, waxing, or using hair removal creams
- Come to your appointment with clean, clear skin. If you’re experiencing an outbreak, your appointment will need to be rescheduled
Procedure
During your SylfirmX session, you’ll relax and lie comfortably in one of our treatment rooms. Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed and a topical numbing cream will be applied to prevent any discomfort. After this, one of our expert medical staff will begin the treatment by carefully placing the SylfirmX device on your skin. The ultrafine needles gently perforate the skin and make tiny microchannels. Then, the tip of the needles will emit gentle pulses of radiofrequency energy to repair vessels and jumpstart the production of collagen and elastin. [2] The technician will repeat these applications to ensure that the entire area is treated evenly. Once we’ve finished, you are free to leave our care and get back to your day.
Recovery
SylfirmX allows patients to jump back to their routine, and there’s no downtime required. Despite this, patients should plan to take it easy on their skin for the first 2-3 days. Common after-effects can include some redness, swelling, and soreness. Avoid rubbing or scratching the treated areas to prevent further irritation. SSA will guide you on when to resume your regular skin care regimen.
Results
Although some patients can achieve their desired results after just one session, those with other skin concerns usually witness optimal results after 2-4 sessions placed a few weeks apart. In the weeks following their treatment, patients see a gradual improvement in pigmentation, texture, laxity, and other signs of aging. As always, using an SPF daily and other good skin care habits will help maintain healthy, glowing skin.

FAQ
Will SylfirmX cause bleeding?
Most patients experience little to no bleeding during their Sylfirm X session. After the treatment, patients will experience some redness, but this will resolve itself in a few days.
Does SylfirmX hurt?
Most patients find SylfirmX treatments easy to tolerate. A topical anesthetic is administered at the start of treatment.
