What is Facial Cosmetic Surgery and How can it Make Me Look Better?
Facial cosmetic surgery (or facial plastic surgery) is any elective procedure done to your face, nose, eyes, chin, cheeks, brows or neck. Generally known as a “facelift", this group of procedures is designed to improve, reshape, augment or restore your appearance, making you look younger. Dr. Nease and Dr. Deal are experts at achieving natural, youthful results without looking pulled or plastic. You can find a discussion of the different techniques and their benefits here.
Some of our more common face rejuvenating procedures include face and neck lifts, blepharoplasty (eyelift), rhinoplasty (nose reshaping), brow lift, otoplasty (ear pinning), laser resurfacing, fat transfer and SmartLipo to the neck and jowls.
One common facial procedure is the Facelift or rhytidectomy. It is a procedure designed to remove major wrinkles and sagging skin on the face and neck, making you look years younger. It involves tightening of the facial and neck muscles as well as the removal of any excess skin along the neck, jowl and jaw line. The procedure will also give a lifted, more youthful appearance to your cheeks or midface.
A facelift will have a dramatic effect on your neck & jaw line, enhancing its contour and profile. The procedure is frequently performed in conjunction with blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery), forehead or brow lift, chin augmentation and skin rejuvenation with chemical peel or laser resurfacing to create an overall rejuvenated face. The procedure can be repeated in the future, though it is rarely necessary for at least 10 years.
