Southern Surgical Arts’ surgeons, Dr. Nease and Dr. Deal, provide charitable services for men, women and children through different community outreach efforts.
Facial Plastic Surgeon Cosmetic Surgery
Reaching out to the surrounding community is a regular occurrence for Southern Surgical Arts’ facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon, Dr. Nease, who has been affiliated with Faces of Honor for the past year. Faces of Honor is a charitable organization affiliated with the American Association of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery to provide free reconstructive surgery for both men and women who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The services will reconstruct and repair any damage to an injured soldier’s face or neck that occurred during their time of service.
“These men and women have laid their lives on the line to ensure our freedom. They are heroes and deserve to have the constant reminder of scars or deformities removed,” said Dr. Nease. “Choosing to join the efforts of Faces of Honor was really not a decision that required much thought; it is simply the right thing to do.”
Dr. Nease’s involvement with Faces of Honor comes from Southern Surgical Arts’ effort to expand its community outreach efforts. Another program the doctors are active in include Project Access in Hamilton County, Tennessee, which provides services for low income or uninsured individuals. Even though most cosmetic procedures are elective, Dr. Deal and Dr. Nease have training in other areas such as general surgery and otolaryngology. They also provide services in the community by treating any traumatic or urgent medical issues that may affect a patient’s appearance or self-confidence.
Another charitable organization that Southern Surgical Arts is active in is Breast Oasis. They provide a drop-off for clean, gently used bras. These bras are given to women who can otherwise not afford these items. The bras are collected and distributed confidentially at the Chattanooga Room in the Inn, which is a women’s shelter in the Chattanooga area. Providing this drop off location and encouraging their patients to participate is just another way that the surgeons at Southern Surgical Arts are reaching out to the surrounding communities they serve.
Reaching out to the community, offering their services, is a daily occurrence for each staff member of Southern Surgical Arts. The team of doctors works with their patients to provide life changing cosmetic and facial plastic surgical procedures. The treatments are catered to each patient to provide them with the best possible care available with their aesthetic goals in mind.
